One year

This is Tanner exactly one year later, sitting on the exact spot in our living room where he was born. :)

One year ago almost to this very minute, I was nursing my sweet baby boy for the first time. Sitting on that very couch which I had stood in front of to give birth. :)

It was such a wonderful triumphant day! :D

I had felt no need to go to any hospital. I had felt no need to be medicated in any way. I did feel pain, and lots of it!! But with the help of midwives who knew their work well, I had all that I needed. I was in my comfy home, with loving family present. And they all got me through the hard part of having a baby :)

And when I heard those midwives tell my mom and dad how awesome they thought it was when I had stood up and had hollered that he was coming; when I heard them say how brave and awesome and wonderful I had done, I felt like I was the champion mother of the century!!

And my prize was the BEST PRIZE EVER! Tanner has been the most perfect little boy. Couldn't have asked for a better baby to introduce me into mothering a boy. Even though we had a rough start with the weight loss and related issues, we overcame that and he is and always was such a healthy little thing, the doctor couldn't imagine why he was not gaining "like he should"...

SO, I guess the theme for Tanner's first birthday over all is TRIUMPH!

I feel like I am the richest woman in all the world! :)

11 months!

11 months old!

Does not like waking up! But after a few minutes of being cranky n rubbing eyes he is his usual cheerful self :)

He is an all around cutie pie and everyone loves him, everywhere we go we get people telling us how cute he is :)

I have to say I agree. I think he is the cutest thing on earth :)

Teeth!

Tanner finally got his two front bottom teeth! At nearly 10 months, he s not my latest teether, that would be Raechel, whose first teeth didn't pop through til she was nearly 14 months old! But he has been having bouts with drool and pain and fevers for the past 3 months (maybe more?)! So I am happy they are through, finally :)

I tried and tried to get a pic, but he won't let me put my hands anywhere near his mouth. It obviously still hurts! The couple times I did manage to feel his gums, I felt teeth :) And it looks as if both are through.

I hope we can get a rest from the drool now. He has a rash around his mouth and on his chin from it.

Even though I couldn't get a pic of his new toofers, here is a cute recent pic of the sweet lil man with his daddy and Sweetie the doggie :)

 And an added bonus Tanner pic from last night. Isn't he adorable? Hard for me to believe he will be 9 months next week. And no teeth yet! He is standing up and cruising around holding onto the furniture tho  :)
